Fall Tree Sun Catcher

We made this tree sun catcher this week to go along with our fall theme. It looks so pretty in our window, even on a rainy day.

To make you need the following supplies:
  • Brown and green construction paper (for tree & grass)
  • Contact Paper, mine was about 15" tall by 20" wide
  • Tissue paper in assorted fall colors, orange, yellow, red (I keep all the crumpled tissue from gift bags we've received)
Cut a tree trunk and strip of grass out of the brown and green construction paper. Pre-cut leaves from colored tissue paper - to make this go quickly fold the tissue paper several times and cut into the stack of layers to make your leaves.

Next, lay a sheet of contact paper, sticky side up and attach the tree and grass, Kaitlyn helped arrange the leaves around the tree branches. This is a glue mess free craft, but still sticky enough to make it interesting for your tot.

Finally, fold the contact paper over the top of the tree (sticky side to sticky side), forming a seal. Trim the edges, and hang with yarn or whatever you have in your stash. Enjoy!
