Clothespin Magnets tutorial

Who knew clothespins could be so useful? I use these lovely little clothespin magnets on our fridge to hold my daughters art, she likes to hang her own so these are very easy for her little hands to use.

Go gather up your crafting supplies, and let's make these together.

Supplies

Here's what you'll need:
  • Clothespins (I bought mine at the $1 store, great find)
  • Adhesive Magnet strip (purchased at JoAnn's)
  • Mod Podge (Collage Pauge in glossy finish purchased from JoAnn's)
  • Tacky Glue (JoAnn's)
  • Scissors
  • Foam brush
  • Pen/pencil
  • Variety of scrapbook paper
 Trace clothespin onto magnet strip
 Cut magnet
Apply a thin layer of Tacky glue to clothespin. The adhesive magnet strip I purchased was not strong enough to adhere to the clothespin. Tacky glue was the best glue I found that worked. I also tried Elmers (dries slower), and hot glue (didn't hold very well and dries too quickly).
Peel paper from magnet and glue to clothespin
Trace clothespin onto scrapbook paper.
Cut paper.
Apply a thin layer of mod podge with foam brush
Smooth paper on clothespin with fingers. Smoothing out any bubbles. Apply a top coat of mod podge. Allow to dry.
